Step had a very cool answer to my question about visual search interfaces. It's not completely there yet but I think it's headed in the right direction. It allows you to search for images based on how similar they are to others.Check out Cydral > Web Page and Image Search.
searching for images is one of THE most frustrating things for me sometimes. Like for instance, say your doctor says you have x, and you want to see a photo of people with x. It doesn't WORK well on google. It. Just. Doesn't.
