I find this works especially well in the middle of an irksome situation. Irritation usually changes to insight when I step outside the conflict and view it from another perspective. I can feel an almost physical release of tension and then enjoy the feeling of enlightenment at seeing the bigger picture.

It may sound simple but does it happen enough?
Many mistakes, massacres and miseries might never have happened if people took the time to do this more frequently.
